General information
The Production and Management Engineering Department organizes and operates from the academic year 2018-2019 a Postgraduate Program (MSc) entitled: “Innovation, Technology and Business Management” (Government Gazette in Greek: ΦΕΚ Β’ 2774/12-7-2018). The Postgraduate Program has been operating since the academic year 2019-2020. The subject of the Postgraduate Program is Business Administration with emphasis on the Technological, Technical-Construction and Industrial sectors. The MSc awards a Master’s Degree with the following specializations: a) Operations Management, Production and Logistics, b) Organizational and Product Design, c) Systems Management and Technology.
According to the Rules of Procedure (ΦΕΚ Β’ 3659/28-8-2018) as amended and in force (Government Gazette in Greek ΦΕΚ Β’ 1568/04-04-2022) the postgraduate program is part of the strategic planning of the Institution, is governed by scientific cohesion and aims at the further promotion of knowledge, the development of research, the satisfaction of the educational, research, social, cultural and developmental needs of the country, the high-level specialization of graduates in theoretical and applied areas of specific disciplines, special thematic units or sub-branches of the cognitive subjects of the first cycle of studies of the Department. With this MSc, the Department fulfills its mission by teaching, researching and implementing systematic ways to improve productivity (increasing the quality and quantity of production while reducing the available resources) and training qualified engineers capable of studying, researching and dealing scientifically with the design of the structure and operation of modern technological and administrative systems..
The objectives of the MSc are:
i/ The creation of capable and specialized executives – young scientists who will staff Greek companies and organizations.
ii/ The acquisition of specific knowledge and skills related to the field of Business Administration for mainly of Polytechnic Schools graduates.
iii/ The continuous training of the participants in specialized issues on their subject.
iv/ Strengthening research and innovation at regional and national level.
v/ The production of new knowledge through research at the level of postgraduate dissertations.
vi/ The connection of the Department with industry.
vii/ The improvement of the Department’s logistical infrastructure.
Coordinating Committee of the Postgraduate Program
The coordinating committee of the Postgraduate Program consists of Professors A. Gasteratos, D. Koulouriotis, P. Botsaris, P. Chatzoglou and Assistant Professor A. Diamantidis.
Curriculum
The total number of Credit Units (ECTS) required to obtain the MSc is 90 (for a Postgraduate Program with a duration of three semesters). In order to obtain the MSc, compulsory attendance and successful examination are required in all courses (10 in total) which are allocated to the first two semesters of study (A’ and B’). Of these, seven (7) are core and three (3) residential. Both core and specialization courses are chosen by students from different groups of courses. During the third (C’) semester of studies, the elaboration of the postgraduate dissertation is required, the credit units of which (ECTS) are set at 30.
