The professional rights of the graduates of the Departments of Engineering Schools are governed by Presidential Decree ΠΔ 99 (Government Gazette 187 A’ 5/11/2018). In particular, the graduates of the Department of Production and Management Engineering from Article 15 of the above PD. To download the PD click here.
In more detail, Article 15 states:
Article 15. Professional rights of the Production and Management Engineer
1. A Production and Management Engineer is the engineer who deals with technical problems related to the production of products and services, facilities, equipment, tools, mechanisms, machines, including technical issues related to heating, cooling, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing, as well as with technical problems related to the production, transmission, distribution and use of energy in thermal, electrical, or mechanical form. He/she deals with aspects of the above related to the research, design, study, construction, safe operation, administration, and economics thereof. The academic subject of the Production and Management Engineer includes:
(1) Planning, optimization and management of industrial production and supplies (logistics):
analysis and optimization of physical and administrative processes of production, storage, transport, and quality control of goods while ensuring the sustainability of industrial systems, the safety and health conditions of workers, environmental protection, productivity and economic efficiency.
(2) Construction of all types of mechanical installations, machines, and mechanisms: technical and economic design of mechanical structures and materials so that they can safely receive all types of loads on them (static, dynamic, seismic, thermal, impact), analysis of properties and optimization of material selection in every mechanical construction with the aim of the safety and economy of these constructions, the application of automatic control systems and robotics in mechanical constructions and facilities and the design of industrial processing systems.
(3) Energy engineering and analysis of machines, units and installations for energy conversion and transfer, heating, cooling, air conditioning: solving technical problems related to the production, transfer and use of energy in its thermal, mechanical, or nuclear form, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, environmentally friendly and efficient design and analytical calculation of all kinds of loads (static, dynamic, seismic, thermal, impact) on units and facilities for their safe construction and economical and environmentally friendly operation while ensuring hygienic conditions, ergonomic design/operation and comfort.
2. The Production and Management Engineer has the following professional rights:
(1) Elaboration of passive fire protection studies for building projects.
(2) Plans (two-dimensional) and sections of existing buildings for electrical and mechanical licensing except for building permits of any kind, except for monuments, preserved buildings, traditional settlements, and ensembles.
(3) Elaboration of studies of the structure and spatial organization of utility networks.
(4) Elaboration and supervision of location studies of buildings, facilities, activities, businesses, special uses and organized receivers in terms of public utility networks.
(5) Elaboration of land development studies (local and regional) and operational programs.
(6) Elaboration of studies of metal facilities where no foundation and anti-seismic calculation is required.
(7) Management and assessment (facilities and equipment values, vulnerability, risk).
(8) Elaboration of studies in industrial and craft facilities.
(9) Elaboration of studies of facilities of building service networks, namely:
(10) (a) electrical networks and related facilities;
(11) (b) plumbing;
(12) (b) refrigeration and air conditioning installations;
(13) (c) liquid and gas fuel combustion and ventilation installations;
(14) (d) all types of boilers, heat pumps, and other systems, passive heating systems.
(15) Elaboration of studies of other electrical installations.
(16) Elaboration of studies of non-fixed machinery and equipment.
(17) Elaboration of studies of storage facilities for dangerous products as well as facilities for freezing or preserving perishable products.
(18) Elaboration of studies for heating, cooling, and air conditioning facilities.
(19) Preparation of studies for natural gas installations, passive heating systems, water supply, and drainage installations for building projects.
(20) Drawing up studies of lifting and transport facilities.
(21) Elaboration of studies of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
(22) Design of electrical and mechanical equipment and mapping of existing facilities.
(23) Elaboration of electrical energy storage system studies.
(24) Elaboration of studies of electricity harvesting systems, measurement and automation systems, power converters.
(25) Elaboration of studies of the production, management, and conversion of electricity.
(26) Elaboration of studies of the production, management, conversion, and saving of energy (non electrical).
(27) Elaboration of studies of mechanical constructions and project machinery.
(28) Elaboration of desalination plant studies from renewable resources.
(29) Elaboration of acoustics, electroacoustics and soundproofing studies of buildings, studios, and other related areas with the necessary equipment.
(30) Elaboration of studies of intelligent electrical networks.
(31) Elaboration of induction and microwave heating application studies in industry with automation and electrical and electronic power supply and automatic control installation.
(32) Definition of workflows, user requirements and functional software specifications for integrated production, administration, business management, and decision support systems.
(33) Preparation and supervision of energy efficiency studies, upgrading and energy saving of the building shell.
(34) Preparation and supervision of energy efficiency studies, upgrading, and energy saving of industrial/building facilities.
(35) Energy audits/inspections.
(36) Elaboration of studies of all types of self-propelled means of transport and vehicles (land, water, air).
(37) Elaboration of shipyard facility studies.
(38) Preparation and supervision of environmental studies and environmental impact and strategic environmental assessment studies.
(39) i.e) Preparation and supervision of sanitary, safety and fire and explosion protection facility studies (such as SEVESO, VAME, ATEX).
(40) Elaboration of studies of active fire safety and fire protection installations and networks.
(41) Elaboration of studies for storage, production and handling of flammable and toxic substances.
(42) Elaboration of studies of industrial manufacturing and non-manufacturing combustion, heating, cooling, air conditioning and ventilation, transport, distribution and storage of fluids (gases and liquids) and solid materials after the accompanying technical facilities.
(43) Elaboration of studies of mechanical engines of all types with their special modifications) Indicatively included are engines for the special purpose of serving industry, craft production and shipping, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, steam turbines as well as any installation on land or on a floating or flying medium.
(44) Elaboration of studies of facilities for the collection, transport, storage, processing, and final distribution of natural gas for every use.
(45) Elaboration of studies of multiphase flow devices and facilities.
(46) Drawing up studies of pump installations, compressors and all kinds of related assemblies for every use in fluid flow and pressurized water/steam installations.
(47) Elaboration of studies for water supply and drainage in industrial and non-industrial facilities, buildings, transportation projects (on electrical and mechanical issues), and construction sites.
(48) Elaboration of electrical and mechanical studies of irrigation, water supply and water drainage facilities for each use.
(49) Elaboration of studies of industrial cooling systems and facilities.
(50) Elaboration of electrowelding studies and electrowelded constructions.
(51) Elaboration of studies of conventional and non-conventional material processing systems and facilities.
(52) Elaboration of energy exploitation studies of geothermal fields (low, medium and high enthalpy) as well as shallow geothermal energy systems.
(53) Selection and application of materials in plant equipment and machinery.
(54) Elaboration of studies of biomedical devices and facilities.
(55) Elaboration of industrial ergonomics, logistics, transport and distribution studies.
(56) Elaboration of automation and robotics studies for electrical and mechanical applications.
