Undergraduate Thesis
The diploma thesis is a scientific-technical work prepared by the candidate engineer during the last semester of his/her studies, with the aim of completing them and obtaining his diploma.
The thesis is a learning path different from the one with which the student became familiar in the previous semesters, through coursework. Its aim is to help him systematize and comprehensively apply the knowledge of the Production and Management Engineering branch and, in addition, to delve deeper into a specific field of knowledge.
At the same time, the thesis is the first extensive technical and scientific work, which the future production and management engineer is asked to prepare based to a scientific methodology.
The grade of the diploma in the Department of Production Engineering and Management of the Democritus University of Thrace is calculated as the average score obtained by the graduate during his/her examination in the courses of the study program weighted by five sixths (5/6) plus the grade obtained during the examination of his/her diploma work weighted by one sixth (1/6).
