Dr. Stefanos Katsavounis received his Engineering Diploma from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1983. He received his PhD in 2000 from the Department of Applied Informatics of University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Dissertation Title:”Tasks Scheduling Algorithm on Multiprocessor Systems”. From 2003 to 2006 he was Assistant Professor at Department of Informatics at Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, teaching Operating Systems.

From 2006 he is in the Department of Production & Management Engineering, School of Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace. Currently he is an Associate Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Materials. He has participated either as a researcher and/or as project manager in many research projects funded by European and national sources and has more than sixty papers in international journals and proceedings of international conferences.
