Course Description

Electric field, Electric polarization and dielectric materials, Magnetic field, Magnetism and magnetic materials, Electrical quantities and units, Measuring instruments and measurements, Electrical circuit components, Electrical circuit analysis, Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s laws, Thevenin and Norton theorems, Permanent sinusoidal state of electrical networks, Alternating current and voltage, Power in AC circuits, Three-phase networks, Capacitance, Inductance, Analysis of R-L-C circuits, Coordination, Filters.


Purpose of the course

By the end of the semester, students should be able to:

  • Solve simple circuits with resistor synthesis, R-L-C circuits in resonant conditions, and capacitor and inductor charge-discharge circuits.
  • Recognize measuring instruments connection and way of measuring electrical quantities.
  • Apply loop method, theorems of equivalent circuits, superposition, maximum transferred power.
