Course Description
Basic functions and characteristics of human cognition, Fundamentals of human-computer interactive systems, Basic concepts of interactive systems development, Feedback loops, Direct manipulation and invisible interfaces, Human abilities, Design principles and heuristics, Introduction to task analysis, Research and search, Introduction to mental models and representations, Design of interactive systems, Evaluation of interactive systems
Purpose of the course
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Know the basic functions and characteristics of human cognition
- Know the basic design principles and methods of design, development and evaluation of interactive products and human-computer systems.
- Apply methods of user-centred research.
- Apply methods of design and prototyping of interactive systems.
- Apply methods of empirical evaluation of interactive systems
